Be proud of Rockford
7/30/2010
Letter to the Editor
I have lived in every time zone in the U.S., in seven states and nine cities and for 10 years now have proudly called Rockford home.
I have never lived in another city with nicer, more helpful people. We have one of the top children’s museums in the country, affordable local sports events, world-class locally owned restaurants, a fantastic City Market, our own music festival called On the Waterfront, little or no traffic jams, award-winning gardens, and the list goes on. Not to mention incredible churches that have helped anyone from Haiti to victims of Hurricane Katrina.
We have local politicians who are honest and dedicated to our community and business leaders who are constantly working to improve Rockford further.
Sure, Rockford has its problems. Every city does — which Mr. Miller will soon find out firsthand. What we all need to realize is what gems our city has to offer and lose our Rockford inferiority complex.
— Nancy Kaney, Rockford
