The RRDP is developing core initiatives that will spur redevelopment.
North End City Market
The North End City Market is located at the southeast corner of the intersection of North Main and Auburn streets on Saturday mornings May 14 through October 29 from 9am-1pm.
The North End Commons Farmers Market has been a weekly tradition for the people of the North End for many years. In 2015, the Rockford City Market team began managing the North End City Market in the same intersection but moved right across the street for better visibility to attract new patrons to enjoy the market. The North End City Market is full of fresh, local products and food and is a nice place for the community to gather to shop, eat, and socialize.
Rockford City Market
The Rockford City Market has something for everyone including families, young professionals, kids and seniors. Whether you plan to pick up your weekly fresh produce, buy your Saturday dessert, find a unique gift, socialize with friends, or just relax and take in the atmosphere, this Friday tradition has something for you!
The market features local retailers, food producers, artisans, kids’ activities and live performances. Vendors and performers come from a 150-mile radius, ensuring locally grown produce and unique retail items.
The Rockford City Market takes place, rain or shine, Fridays from 3:30 – 8:30p.m, (7:30 after Labor Day), May 20 through September 30 along Water Street between State and Jefferson Streets.
Rockford Vintage Market
The Rockford Vintage Market is a vintage market held in the location of the Rockford City Market on the third Saturday in the months of June, July, and August. The market focuses on Vintage vendors with quality vintage, antique, and re-purposed items including home and garden goods, furniture, clothing, jewelry, art, and children’s items. The market had its inaugural season in 2015 and features food, beverage, and entertainment for shoppers.
More initiatives will emerge soon as our work progresses.
