‘Anything That Floats’ race hits the Rock River this Sunday

ROCKFORD – The Rockford region is getting ready to set sail at the Rock River Anything That Floats Race (RRATFR) this Sunday, Aug. 21, as several rafters, kayakers, canoers and paddle boarders make their way down the Rock River for a 1.65-mile race to the finish line.
An after party at the Prairie Street Brewing Company will round out the festivities. The community is encouraged to participate on and off the water. Please refer to the run of show below or visit rratfr.com for more information.
Schedule
6 a.m. – 7 a.m. – Volunteers setting up
7 a.m. – 8:45 a.m. – Kayaks, Canoes, and Paddleboards will be put in the water.
9 a.m. – Double Kayaks race
9:30 a.m. – Single Kayaks
10 a.m. – Vendors open for selling
10 a.m. – Double Canoes
10:30 a.m. – Single Canoes
11 a.m. – Prairie Street Brewhouse Deck opens with food and bar
11 a.m. – Single Paddleboards
11 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. – Rafts will be entering the water
12 p.m. – 5 p.m. – Music playing at Prairie Street Brewhouse Deck Stage
12 p.m. – Gramps with Amps
2:45 p.m. – Dirty Fishnet Stockings
12:30 p.m. – Raft Race Begins
12:30 p.m. – Mayor Morrissey hoping to join the festivities and start the race
3 p.m. – Expected completion of the races
After 3 p.m. – Awards Presentation: First Place, Most Creative Design, and People’s Choice.
Branded event shirts are available for purchase online at Race Store and all day during the event.
The community is encouraged to follow all RRATFR social media sites on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram for continuous posts and updates as well as sharing photos using the main hashtag for the event, #rratfr.
