ROCKFORD (WREX) -
City of Rockford staffers were at City Market Friday night to take people's opinions on what's most important to them in downtown.
The economic development team worked a booth.
All 13 different strategies that have come out of the planning process for the downtown master plan were plastered on boards.
The strategies include everything from putting an aquarium downtown to more on street parking.
People who stopped by the booth could vote on which priorities they'd like to see the city focus on
"We're going to tally all the votes, and we're going to report back out to the community," said David Sidney, Rockford's Comprehensive Planning Manager. "We'll include it also in the final plan that will go forward to council for consideration."
City Council could vote on the Downtown Strategic Action Plan as early as next month.
It will set the course of downtown development for the next 10 years.
