ROCKFORD (WREX) - As Labor Day weekend nears, many of us at 13 WREX are reflecting on what a wonderful summer its been for the community. We've spent the summer celebrating what's best about Rockford. And now we want to know, what have you seen in the Stateline that's made Rockford a positive place to be this summer? Here are some of the things on our list: We ended the school year by recognizing the Top of Your Class seniors during an annual banquet. We spent every, single Friday evening with all of you enjoying food, music and fun at Rockford City Market. We took our staff to the Illinois Broadcasters Association awards in June to bring home more awards than any other station in the market and the state. One word: Rio. We had such a wonderful time bringing you our best coverage of the Olympic Summer Games. 13 Sports Director Derek Bayne and his wife welcomed their son in to the world. And we floated down the Rock River during the Anything That Floats competition!
