ROCKFORD — Charles Marohn, president of Strong Towns, a national nonprofit working to strengthen financial resilience in America’s towns and cities, will lead a series of free workshops Aug. 29-30 in Rockford. Marohn will lead “Chat on the Curb” workshops and walking tours in various locations in Rockford. The schedule and meeting spots are as follows: 7 p.m. Aug. 29, Main and Auburn streets; 9 a.m. Aug. 30, Katie’s Cup, 502 Seventh St.; 10:15 a.m. Aug. 30, Rockford City Market, Water and Market streets; 2:30 p.m. Aug. 30, Dairy Depot, 5413 N. Second St., Loves Park; and 5:30 p.m. Aug. 30, Veterans Memorial Hall, 211 N. Main St. For information: strongtowns.org.
